Warning light for electronic stability program (ESP) lights up
If the above-mentioned defect is discovered in connection with permanently lit-up stop lights, a possible cause responsible for this is a faulty fastening element.
The fastening element fixes the pressure rod for the brake booster on the brake pedal.
Occasionally it is also not possible to engage the first gear in vehicles which have the "Dualogic" automatic transmission.
Remedy
Check the fastening element (A) of the pressure rod above the pedals and, if necessary, replace.
