If the problem described above is determined, the cause could be a defective engine oil pump.

If this is the case, the operative function of the engine oil pump is compromised by a defective pressure relief valve.

Remedy:

In order to exclude other sources of the problem, first check the periphery (sensors, engine oil level, etc.)

If no fault is found here, the engine oil pump should be replaced.

To do this, proceed as follows:

• Read out and clear the fault memory using a suitable diagnostic unit (e.g. Hella-Gutmann mega macs 66)
• Replace the defective engine oil pump with an improved pump in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications

Replace OE no. 16100M68K02

• Carry out oil change and replace oil filter
• Read out fault memory and clear if necessary
