SEG-Tool PRO: The right solution for every lighting requirement.

The SEG-Tool PRO uses a camera to capture the light distribution and analyses it directly within the device. The 1-megapixel camera and the high-performance electronics work closely together: Capture and processing take place with minimal delay, ensuring that the light distribution is displayed clearly, smoothly and almost in real time on the screen.

For the user, this means one thing above all else: Changes made whilst the setting is being adjusted are immediately visible. This makes it easier to see the effect of the adjustment, particularly in the case of modern headlamp systems with complex or widely dispersed light distributions. This not only makes the process more efficient, but also provides greater certainty in the assessment and reduces unnecessary interruptions.

The large 10.1-inch touchscreen clearly displays measurement values, light distribution and relevant information directly on the SEG-Tool PRO. It folds out and can be viewed from both sides – so you can keep an eye on key information at all times, whatever your working position.

Modern headlamp systems can vary considerably depending on the manufacturer, model and lighting technology. To ensure that the adjustment is carried out reliably, the user therefore needs more than just a precise measurement: It is crucial to have the correct vehicle-specific information regarding the respective light distribution, set points and the intended adjustment procedure.

The SEG-Tool PRO integrates this information directly into the process. Vehicles can be selected via the database, VIN, HSN/TSN, registration number, Car History or manually created vehicles. This enables the user to quickly find the right vehicle without having to search for relevant information from various sources.

This provides a noticeable increase in safety and saves time in day-to-day use: Instead of having to search for the correct procedure, the relevant vehicle data is available right where it is needed. Selected vehicle data can also be imported from compatible Hella Gutmann diagnostic devices – ensuring an even smoother workflow and reducing the need for duplicate data entry.

Adaptive headlight systems, Matrix LED and glare-free full-beam functions place significantly greater demands on headlight alignment. Depending on the manufacturer, model and lighting technology, it is not only the light distributions that differ, but also the prescribed testing and adjustment procedures. For the user, this means: It is not always enough simply to identify a deviation – it is also crucial to correctly interpret the appropriate light distribution and select the correct method.

This is exactly where the SEG-Tool PRO comes in, with the Light Licence PRO 2 Add-on. Manufacturer-specific adjustment algorithms provide the relevant information for more sophisticated lighting systems and guide the user more effectively through the adjustment process. This means you don’t have to go to great lengths to find the correct procedure or piece it together from various sources.

Further guidance is provided by the AFS Selection Assistant. By comparing actual results with target values, it helps to match the measured light distribution against stored reference values and to select the appropriate light distribution or the correct adjustment algorithm. Particularly with complex systems, this provides greater clarity at the crucial moment and gives the user added confidence when assessing and adjusting settings.

When it comes to safety-related work, it is not just the result that counts. It is equally important to be able to understand this later,what was tested, adjusted and measured. This is precisely why the SEG-Tool PRO generates a digital measurement report containing relevant customer and vehicle data, measurement results and the recorded light distributions. This turns the actual setting into a clearly documented process.

The added value becomes particularly apparent when information is needed again at a later date: in the event of queries, follow-up work or for internal quality assurance. Instead of having to rely on handwritten notes or reminders, the results are available in a structured and transparent format. This ensures transparency and gives users added peace of mind throughout the entire process.

About the Car history Vehicles and previous measurements remain directly available. If a vehicle that is already in the system is being processed again, there is no need to create a new record for it – this saves time and speeds up the process of moving on to the next test or adjustment. In conjunction with the cloud connection, data can also be backed up, synchronised and restored as required. This ensures that relevant information remains available in the long term and can be quickly accessed when carrying out follow-up work.
