High Voltage Current Sensor

For full hybrid and EV applications, HELLA has designed a shunt-based high voltage current sensor that fulfills the requirements for electrical safety of high voltage components in road vehicles according to international standards.

ADVANTAGES
  • Precise shunt-based measurement of current within high voltage applications and
  • LIN communication and supply interface
  • Greater accuracy compared to today’s Hall sensors (< 1%)
  • Precise calculation of ampere-hour balance
  • Current consumption < 12 mA in operation
  • Insulation resistance > 5 MΩ
  • ASIL B qualified (ISO2626-2)
  • Additional “Sync line” to ensure a synchronized measurement of the current and the voltage in the cells from a battery.
