Vehicle no longer starts after having been towed

If the fault mentioned above is detected, it may be in connection with the triggering of the fuel cut-off switch.

A fuel cut-off switch is installed in this vehicle. The switch is triggered in the event of a sudden change in the vehicle's position and if any strong vibrations occur. In our case all this was undoubtedly caused by jacking up the vehicle and towing it away. The fuel cut-off switch, also called the inertia and crash switch, intervenes in the event of an accident, for example, and ensures that the engine switches off. The switch interrupts the power supply to the fuel pump relay and thus deactivates the fuel supply to the engine.
Monitoring by a higher-level control unit does not take place in the case of this vehicle model. The triggering of the switch is not registered and also not documented in the error memory.

If no other causes have been localised during troubleshooting, the following check is recommended:
if the vehicle can be brought back to life by briefly spraying "Start Pilot" into the intake manifold during the starting process, then the fault clearly lies with the fuel supply.

The next step is to activate the crash switch, which is installed in the area of the left A-pillar behind the cover in the dashboard, by pressing a button. The switch acknowledges the reset with an audible click. A test drive should then be carried out and the error memory once again read out.
