Peugeot 307 - Engine jerks when accelerating | HELLA

Peugeot 307

1.6 HDI FAP

Engine code: 9HZ (DV6TED4)

Model year: 2004–2005

Engine jerks when accelerating.

Vehicle switches to limp-home mode

Error code: P1113 high-pressure fuel system

"Pressure too low"

If severe engine jerking is identified on the above vehicle at speeds of 3000 rpm and above and error code P1113 is read out from the error memory at the same time, the cause could be a clogged fuel filter.

If insufficient fuel is supplied to the electronic diesel control system, there is a pressure drop in the system which is detected by the electronic sensors. The error stored in the control unit is generally attributed to the following causes during general diagnostics:

  • Fuel pressure sensor faulty
  • Fuel pressure regulator faulty
  • Fuel flow regulator faulty
  • High-pressure pump faulty
  • Control unit faulty
  • Fuel system leaking or blocked

Repair note

Before replacing the various components, first check the fuel supply system.

We recommend the following procedure:

  • Check for leaks in the fuel system
  • Clear error codes
  • Start the vehicle's engine
  • Read out parameters
  • Check the fuel pressure in different speed ranges and compare the setpoint and actual values

If significant deviations are identified, replace the fuel filter and repeat the checks.

Please always observe the maintenance and repair notes provided by the vehicle manufacturer in this context.
