Error codes P0598, P023B, P0947 when the radiator fan is permanently on

If the error message "Motor overheated" is displayed on the instrument cluster on the vehicle models mentioned above, one cause for this may be a defective heater for the oil vapour extraction. A defect in the heater will cause fuse F5 to blow. All components designated in the error codes are protected by this fuse, which leads to the corresponding error entries. In this case, the defective heater must be removed and replaced with a new one. Then replace the fuse with a new one and delete the error entries.

Please note

The heater for the oil vapour extraction is usually only required in very cold regions and can be shut down in geographically warmer regions by disconnecting the electrical connector. This measure does not cause any error entries or disturbances.
