With the above-mentioned vehicle type, it can happen that the hatchback does not reach its end position or it may drop again abruptly shortly before the top end position is reached.

If the above-mentioned fault arises and no definite faults were found in the periphery of the affected systems during troubleshooting, special attention should be paid to the hydraulic pump of the hatchback lift. The first step in troubleshooting is to check whether the hydraulic pump starts up audibly when pressure is applied to the hatchback’s open button. If this is the case, the oil level in the hydraulic pump's expansion tank should be checked. If this is too low, the pump sucks air into the hydraulic system and the opening and closing process can no longer be carried out correctly.

The hydraulic pump is installed behind the side panel on the right in the luggage compartment. In order to carry out the oil level adjustment correctly, the pump must be removed from the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and placed horizontally to the "+" sign on the expansion tank (1) on a straight, clean surface. Leave the pump rest in this position for one minute. The oil level should be at the maximum mark after the specified waiting time. If this is not the case, the fill level must be corrected.

To do this, turn the pump unit with the filler screw (2) upwards and loosen the screw. Fill with the hydraulic oil approved by the manufacturer up to the specified maximum fill level mark. Make sure that no dirt gets into the container during the filling process. Screw the locking screw back into place and reinstall the pump first without the casing to carry out the functional test. By activating the hatchback several times, the system will be refilled with oil.

Finally check the oil level in the expansion tank once again. If necessary, top up the oil again and once more set the hatchback in motion several times. The hatchback should open and close smoothly again after the completion of these measures. Once the oil level has been adjusted, visually check the hydraulic cables, connections and also the hydraulic damper for any sign of oil loss. If any abnormalities are visible here, the defective components must be replaced.

Once the cause of the fault has been rectified, delete the error memory and then carry out a test drive.
