Vehicle is experiencing a loss of power – error code 244C00 boost pressure control - control deviation
If the fault symptoms described above are observed in conjunction with error code 244C00, a possible cause may be a faulty bypass flap on the turbocharger.
A mechanical fault in the flap actuator may cause the bypass flap to jam. The fault usually occurs sporadically after a longer motorway journey.
As a result of such a fault, the flap remains slightly open, which means that boost pressure cannot build up.
In this case, the bypass flap is to be checked and replaced where necessary. At the same time, the vacuum hoses, the electric changeover or switch valves and the two electro-pneumatic pressure transducers should be inspected for any damage so as to ensure that they are in good working order.
Once the repair is complete, all error codes are to be cleared and a test drive is to be carried out.
