The HELLA brake pad range comprises more than 1,300 items, manufactured from 50 different friction lining recipes. These are designed to precisely reflect the respective requirements of the various vehicle types, brake systems, engine outputs, driving loads, and braking characteristics.
What's more, HELLA disc brake linings are found in almost 100 % of the vehicles on the roads of Western Europe. Comprehensive quality tests have great priority at HELLA.
Products are tested at the group's own research and development center as well as on the road under real conditions. The standards are always the exacting requirements and performance specifications of the vehicle and braking system manufacturers. The program puts our brake linings through up to 300,000 test kilometers and 1,000 hours of test bed testing before releasing them for serial production. For HELLA, maximum safety and performance are key.
Brake pads for electric & hybrid vehicles
All HELLA brake pads for electric and hybrid vehicles fulfil the highest requirements in terms of braking performance, comfort and durability. Environmental protection and compatibility already play a key role in product development.
The copper content of the brake pads is particularly relevant here. HELLA has set itself the goal of offering only copper-free brake pads with a maximum copper content of 0.5 % in relation to the total weight in its worldwide range.
The front and rear axle brake pads for all electric and hybrid vehicles already fulfil these strict requirements and are labelled with the corresponding leaf symbol (N - copper-free). The copper-free formulation of the brake pads is not only environmentally friendly, but also precisely tailored to the respective vehicle types, brake systems, engine performance, driving loads and brake characteristics.
Electric and hybrid vehicles have one thing in common - due to the linear torque curve, they reach high speeds in the shortest possible time, which is why excellent braking performance is important. The friction lining formula takes this into account. The company has tested the properties for friction coefficient, pedal pressure and hot wear at its research and development centre.
The brake pads also exceed the applicable ECE regulation 90.
