Burnt / corroded connector contact on rear light
Failure of the rear lights or direction indicators
On the above mentioned vehicles, the rear lights and/or direction indicators may fail.
If the related bulb is in order, the electrical contacts and also the contacts on the connector should be checked for signs of burning.
Signs of burning (see figure) are mostly caused by a loose contact (insufficient force between the contacts).
To rectify the problem the contacts can be cleaned and, if possible, adjusted; if necessary the connectors are to be renewed.
