ABS Sensors are one of those everyday electronics jobs that now sit right at the centre of vehicle safety systems . These signals are widely used, not only by ABS, TCS and ESP, but also by other systems via the control unit, which is why a clean diagnostic workflow matters before any replacement is made .

• “ABS warning lamp on” - read out the fault memory first, because the stored code helps direct the next diagnostic steps
• “ABS or stability system intervenes incorrectly” - compare the measured values or signal curves of all four wheel speed sensors, not just the reported corner
• “Repeated sensor fault” - check wheel bearing play, axle suspension and the impulse ring or encoder ring before fitting another sensor
  

Compressors remain a key workshop topic for both cabin comfort and wider thermal management. It’s recommended a system-level view, linking compressor work to pressure checks, electrical checks and full thermal-management diagnosis rather than assuming the compressor is automatically the failed part

• “No cooling” or “poor cooling” - first confirm whether the compressor is being activated, then compare system pressures before condemning the unit
• “Noises occur when the A/C system is activated or when the compressor is engaged.” - inspect mounting points, brackets and surrounding drive components before deciding the compressor itself is faulty
• “Intermittent cooling performance” - check electrical connections, supply and control side as part of the first diagnostic pass. Depending on the system, checking refrigerant charge and system pressures may also be useful when investigating intermittent cooling performance.
  

Compressor-related work is a clear diagnostic-first job. Faults should be read out and verified through system checks, and on electrified applications the wider thermal-management strategy also needs to be taken into account.

• Read out stored faults before replacement and use them to guide the next checks
• Verify supply, connector condition and relevant control signals before fitting parts
• On EV and hybrid applications, follow the vehicle manufacturer’s safety instructions for high-voltage systems

Tail lights may look like a straightforward replacement job, but in the workshop they often call for a little more than a quick swap. A structured approach that starts with the light source, holder, supply and connections, especially on newer vehicles with electronically controlled lighting systems.

• “Rear light not working” - check the light source first, then inspect the bulb holder for corrosion or poor contact before replacing the unit
• “Intermittent rear lamp fault” - inspect plug-type connections and wiring for corrosion, looseness or visible damage
• “LED rear light issue” - on PWM-controlled systems, use suitable electrical testing such as a multimeter or oscilloscope rather than relying only on a simple lamp test

Rear lighting work is another good example of OE meets diagnostics. Even on a familiar service job, it pays to verify supply, signal and connection quality before changing parts, especially on newer electronically controlled systems

• Read out related lighting faults where the vehicle system supports it
• Check supply voltage, fuses and connector condition first
• Use tester-based checks on PWM-controlled lighting circuits where required
