Engine warning light comes on
If a customer complains about the above problem, this could be caused by the gearbox neutral switch.
The following fault codes may be stored: P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304.
These fault codes are stored when several misfires were noticed at the respective cylinders. In this case, each cylinder should be checked for misfires using a diagnostic tester. If the ignition system is working properly, however, the gearbox neutral switch should be replaced (see figure).
