Data protection

A warm welcome to the HELLA Group

We are delighted that you are visiting our web pages and would like to thank you for your interest in our company, our products, and our online information.

HELLA respects your privacy

Personal data is information that can be used to learn about your identity. This includes your name, address, postal address and phone number. Information that cannot be associated with your identity, such as the number of users on a website, is not considered personal data.

Personal data

As the company responsible for the web pages, HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA, Rixbecker Str. 75, D-59552 Lippstadt takes the issue of protecting personal information very seriously. Data protection and information security are part of our company policy. Accordingly, protecting your privacy when processing personal data and the security of all commercial information is an important matter for us, which we observe in our business processes. We treat personal information collected during your visit to our website confidentially and only use it in accordance with legal regulations.
Our web pages may contain links to third-party providers to which this statement on data protection does not apply. We have no influence on whether the administrators of these web pages maintain and uphold the relevant data protection regulations

Obtaining, saving, and processing personal data

Whenever you visit the pages on our website, we save the name of your Internet Service Provider (or 'ISP'), the website through which you arrived at ours, the pages that you visit while with us, and the date and duration of your visit. No other personal information is saved. You can therefore use our website without having to disclose your identity.

When you visit special areas of our website or participate in certain campaigns, additional data may be collected and saved.

Personal data may need to be entered in order to participate in a survey, forward an inquiry, or process a contract.

Specifying personal data is voluntary. When you submit a query using one of our contact forms or via e-mail, we save the data that you provide about yourself in order to facilitate individual communication with you and to process your query.

Certain areas of our website also require you to log in separately, at which point we will ask you to enter your name and/or other personal information during the registration and/or login procedure. For areas which address a specific target group, we utilise the registration procedure to appropriately identify the users of the respective target group. It is your decision whether you are willing to provide this data. Some campaigns or promotions, such as those that access specific information, require you to make several data entries. Entry fields that must be completed are designated with an asterisk (*). Additional information that is not designated as mandatory is optional and does not need to be provided.

Use and dissemination of personal information, the processing purpose and legal basis

We use your personal data to technically manage our websites, customers, product surveys, and marketing to the extent required for each specific case only. We will never transmit your data to third parties outside the HELLA Group without your consent, especially with regard to marketing purposes. An overview of the HELLA group of companies is available online at
www.hella.com/Data-protection.

We will transmit your data to the authorities entitled to request such information to the extent that this is required by law or has been mandated by a court order.

Facebook and Instagram fan pages

Our Facebook and Instagram fan pages are there to get you better acquainted with our company and our products.

When you visit our Facebook/Instagram fan pages, we collect your personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest.

As part of the Page Insights supplement, Facebook has agreed to accept and share responsibility for the data collected and used in conjunction with the Facebook/Instagram fan pages. Further information about the Facebook Page Insights supplement can be found at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data.

When Facebook is processing data, it can happen that data is processed outside the confines of the EU. In these cases, Facebook uses standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and the adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission regarding certain countries. You can find more information about this at: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

Furthermore, it is also possible that Facebook uses user data for market research and advertising purposes. It is possible that this will be used, among other things, to create usage profiles based on user behaviour (and based on the resulting fields of interest). And again, by employing these usage profiles as a basis, advertisements, for example, can be placed on or outside Facebook. To that end, cookies are regularly stored on users' computers. These cookies save user behaviour and also the interests of each individual user. Such usage profiles can also include additional Facebook data, particularly if the user has a Facebook account. Further details on this can be found in the data protection information provided by Facebook.

Should you have any further queries regarding our Facebook/Instagram fan pages or you would like to exercise your rights, please use the contact details listed below (See "Data Protection Officer"). Alternatively, you can also always contact Facebook with your questions and concerns regarding our Facebook/Instagram fan pages.

Data access

So that our operations are correctly and appropriately managed, carefully selected staff from the HELLA Group also have access to your data. The data cannot be used by these members of staff for their own purposes. The employees tasked with employees shall undertake to uphold confidentiality and data secrecy. Moreover, an acceptable level of data protection is guaranteed at all times.
