Vehicle diagnostics made easy: highlights of the mega macs software version 65

software version 65 from Hella Gutmann brings new functions for vehicle diagnostics to mega macs.

With mega macs software version 65, a diagnosis with access to error codes and parameters is possible on Tesla S and X models.

And now there is another manufacturer on board: welcome Tesla!

The Tesla brand is considered to be one of the leading pioneers in the electric vehicle segment – by workshops but also by discerning customers. Any communication with e-cars was up till now only possible via expensive Tesla equipment. The emphasis is on "up till now": With our mega macs software version 65, you can now put the Tesla S models produced from 2012 onwards and the X models from 2015 through their paces. Thanks to the update, you have access to error codes, to the parameters of safety-relevant systems, to the data for charging control, for battery and for thermal management and also access to basic settings.

Here are the available functions in detail:

– Error codes with text for ESP, brake booster, adaptive cruise control, parking aid, airbag, tyre pressure monitoring, electric power steering, vehicle electrical system control unit, driver door control unit, passenger door control unit, keyless entry system, panoramic sunroof, comfort seat control unit. – Parameter view for the ESP, airbag and tyre pressure control systems – basic settings: maintenance mode for parking brake, resetting learning values for steering angle sensor, special bleeding (brake/brake fluid change), “cleaning” of the parking brake, programming of cover flap of high-voltage charging connection, locking actuator – programming high-voltage charging cable connector, unlocking airbag control unit and setting air conditioning to basic setting mode (for evacuation).

Testing of the cooling system is also possible.

Volkswagen Group: integration of the SFD system in mega macs software

And here’s another piece of good news for all motor mechanics: with software version 65, we have integrated the Volkswagen Group's "Vehicle Diagnostic Protection" (SFD) system into our CSM. And this is what that means for you: in future you will also be able to quickly diagnose the very latest models of several Group brands via the manufacturer portal. This is how it works: if you link your mega macs to an SFD-secured vehicle (a vehicle with diagnostics protection), it will automatically recognise this. A message appears indicating that some functions require an authorised CSM user. This person has to enter his CSM identification in order to then carry out diagnosis as usual. The process works even a little bit faster on our units with SDI user interface. Just a simple login on the device is all that it takes.

The following VW Group models protected by the "Vehicle Diagnostics Protection" system can be diagnosed via CSM with all mega macs devices as is usually the case:
