Recall campaigns: condensation leads to short circuits

In the above-mentioned vehicles, incorrectly routed condensation water drain hoses of the air-conditioning system can cause a variety of electronic problems. If misdirected condensation water in the interior of the vehicle comes into contact with electrical components, this can lead to leakage currents and/or short circuits.

For example, there is a risk that systems such as the vehicle locking system and/or the eCall emergency call feature will fail. If necessary, the engine emergency mode is activated.

The problem has already been acknowledged by the vehicle manufacturer, who has responded by initiating a recall campaign (8392005/8391109).
Nevertheless, it is still possible that not all vehicles affected worldwide have been "rectified" (correct routing of the condensation water hoses).

If vehicles with such problems present themselves at the workshop, please bear this information in mind and check whether the recall has been carried out in your area. If necessary, contact the vehicle manufacturer or a workshop authorised by the said manufacturer.
