Repair guide for wiper blades

Replacing the wiper blades on the windscreen

So as to avoid damaging the bonnet and the wiper arm when replacing the wiper blades, the windscreen wipers must be set to maintenance mode.

Activate the maintenance position of the windscreen wiper arm

The windscreen wiper arms move into the maintenance position and can now be folded down. Then replace the wiper blades in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.

After changing the wipers, click the “Wiper Maintenance Position” app once again to

return the windscreen wipers to their original position.

Once folded up, the windscreen wiper arms are under spring tension and may damage the windscreen if they spring back accidentally.

After replacing the wiper blade, check that it is correctly seated.

In order to ensure that the new wiper blades can fully function correctly, the windscreen should be thoroughly cleaned as part of this repair.

These maintenance instructions apply to all XC40 models.
