So noone will miss you: bright rear lamp for trailers and trucks

Multitasking isn't for everyone – but our new rear lamp for trailers and trucks is a natural. It combines all the important light functions for the rear of 24 V trucks and trailers: central direction indicator light, stop light, reverse light and rear fog light – in full LED, of course. For a unique look, the lamp features a 144 sq. cm LED light curtain for the tail light and the reflex reflector behind it.

Is there rain, snow flurries, twilight, a pitch black night? Then the advantages of our rear lamp for trailers and trucks really come to light. Thanks to its luminosity, it ensures optimal visibility at all times – and a safe driving experience for you.

Of course, we've also treated our new rear lamp for trailers and trucks to smart electronics. The high-performance LEDs enjoy a long lifetime and low power consumption. In addition, the controls for the flashing side marker lamps, direction indicator failure control and load simulation for the stop and direction indicator light are integrated into the system. It also has a mechanical interface for sensor technology, meaning that ultrasonic sensors can be connected on both sides, for example. By the way: the lamp allows the direction indicator light to be synchronised with side marker lamps (mandatory for all trucks and trailers registered after January 2020).

Dust and stones? Don't scratch our rear lamp at all!

Developments in vehicle safety are not standing still in the commercial vehicle sector either. And that is a good thing. After all, collisions with large and heavy vehicles can often prove fatal for smaller road users. Most recently, the turn-off assistant for trucks and buses made positive headlines. But a lot is also happening in the area of passive safety. One example is rear underride protection.

In UNECE Regulation No. 58, which is also recognized outside Europe, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) defines uniform conditions for the approval of underride protection systems at the rear of trucks and trailers in particular. These are intended to prevent the body or cargo bed from being driven under in the event of a collision between smaller vehicles and the rear of trucks or their trailers. In this way, the consequences and severity of an accident should be significantly reduced. To further increase the safety of other road users, UNECE Regulation number 58 has been revised.

UNECE-R 58: Significantly improved road safety

The new addition to the HELLA product family is extremely robust. The lens is bonded to the housing and the two-colour polycarbonate (PC) external lens is impact-resistant. Overall, the ISO 13207-compliant rear lamp achieves protection class IP 6K9K, which means that it isn't only dustproof but also resistant to cleaning with a high-pressure jet.

 

With a size of 410 x 140 mm and an installation depth of just 55.5 mm, it's also extremely compact and suits the rear of any vehicle. You drive an older truck? Don't worry, you don't have to miss out on the new rear lamp with full LED. It can be retrofitted to older vehicles, provided that the registration has been successfully expanded accordingly.
