Brake fluid

Four individually usable, safety-optimised brake fluids are available in the extensive HELLA product range:

  • DOT 3 brake fluid should be used for brake and clutch systems if this is recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • DOT 4 brake fluid is recommended for brake and clutch systems with synthetic fluid (including ABS).
  • DOT 4 PRO brake fluid is recommended for all vehicles with modern safety systems such as ESP/ASR.
  • DOT 5.1 brake fluid fulfils the highest demands and is recommended for all vehicles equipped with the latest safety and braking systems.

HELLA brake fluids are available in the following container sizes:

  • 1 piece: 20l canister DOT 4
  • 4 pieces: 5l DOT 4 & DOT 4 Pro canister
  • 10 pieces: 1l DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 4 per bottle
  • 24 pieces: 0,5l & 0,25l DOT 4 bottle

Note

Brake fluid absorbs water over time via hoses, seals, etc., which lowers the boiling point and can impair braking performance. It is therefore important to check the brake fluid regularly and to change the brake fluid every 2 years at the latest. Please only use the fluid specified in the service booklet or on the expansion tank! It is generally advisable to use the brake fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
