Brake discs

When developing HELLA brake pads, the brake disc as the direct friction counterpart to the brake pads is integral to the development process. HELLA brake discs and HELLA brake pads are therefore perfectly matched in terms of safety, comfort and lifetime and form an ideal friction pairing.

Our range contains more than 2,500 brake discs. This means that we cover almost 98% of European vehicle stocks.

In addition to brake discs with anti-corrosion coating, we also offer high-carbon brake discs with anti-corrosion coating and two-piece high-carbon brake discs with anti-corrosion coating to meet the toughest demands and, because they are up to 20% lighter, they reduce fuel and energy consumption and noticeably improve vehicle handling due to a lower rotating mass.

In addition, our brake disc offering is rounded off by our complete range of rear axle brake discs with integrated wheel bearings and ABS sensors for special vehicle models.

  • Unique performance - for maximum safety and performance of your vehicle

  • Tight production tolerances according to the highest quality specifications

  • Optimally matched to HELLA brake pads in terms of safety, comfort and service life

  • Supplied with protective oil against corrosion

High-carbon brake discs for electric and hybrid vehicles

High-carbon brake discs for electric and hybrid vehicles

HELLA offers high-strength, highly carburised brake discs specially designed for high-powered electric and hybrid vehicles that offer sports car-level performance but are significantly heavier than sports cars due to their batteries. The increased carbon content ensures optimal braking performance even in extreme situations thanks to its rapid heat dissipation.

The advantages of high-carbon brake discs:

  • Minimal fading – optimum braking performance even in extreme situations thanks to faster heat dissipation of the high-strength grey cast iron.
  • Reduced brake noise – best noise-damping properties thanks to increased carbon content.
  • Fewer disc impacts – the improved heat conductivity of the high-carbon material reduces deformation. The result: Less vibration and smoother braking.
  • Reliable protection – the paintwork provides lasting protection against corrosion for the pot and outer ring and is also more resistant to wheel cleaner.
  • Enhanced braking comfort – the best tolerance values make braking safer and more direct.
  • Time-saving installation – no protective oil needs to be removed thanks to the coating. The brake disc is ready for immediate installation.
  • Environmentally friendly coating – the coating consists of a special, water-based varnish that is completely harmless to the environment.

High-carbon brake discs for light commercial vehicles

The majority of HELLA brake discs for light commercial vehicles are made of high-carbon grey cast iron and thus have a significantly higher carbon content than normal grey cast iron brake discs. This high carbon content ensures optimum braking performance even in extreme situations thanks to its rapid heat dissipation. This is why brake discs with a high carbon content from HELLA can withstand the toughest loads.
