HELLA Reorganizes Small Lamps Product Division

Lippstadt, June 19, 2017. Current trends like autonomous driving, increasing electrification and the desire of car manufacturers for greater individualization change the area of exterior vehicle lighting and open up new opportunities. In order to better participate in this development, lighting and electronics expert HELLA will pool the competences of the Small Lamps product group at a new location in Ljubljana, not far from the company headquarters of HELLA Saturnus Slovenija. It renamed the product group as Car Body Lighting. The new location employs some 160 persons.

"By pooling our competences, we will be able to even better utilize the growth potential in the area of exterior vehicle lighting", said Markus Bannert, managing director of the Business Division Lighting, in the context of the opening. The Car Body Lighting product group comprises all products of exterior vehicle lighting - from fog lamps, daytime running and front combination lights to rear fog lamps, high-mounted stop lamps and auxiliary indicators, to rear signal and license plate lamps.

"New lighting components furthermore offer many opportunities for supporting various trends while presenting the vehicle exterior in the right light", says John Kuijpers, Head of Product Center Interior Lighting and Car Body Lighting. The radiator grille or door frames can for example be lit. Alternatively, light projections can provide a unique experience when for example a welcome light greets the driver upon entering. The new name Car Body Lighting will from now on reflect more closely the broad spectrum and significance of the product range.
