Robust LED headlamps for extreme applications

Visibility in all weathers

Anyone who works with commercial vehicles knows the problem: Sudden fog, heavy rain or driving snow place considerable restrictions on visibility. In these situations the quality of the vehicle lighting can make all the difference in terms of safety and efficiency. A modern LED main headlamp provides a clear, homogeneous light pattern that ensures optimum visibility even in poor conditions. The wide illumination area makes the surroundings easier to recognise – obstacles, pedestrians or other vehicles are quickly detected. This is a decisive advantage, especially when travelling or working at night. HELLA LED technology ensures a constant luminous intensity and light range at all times – even when the vehicle electrical system voltage is fluctuating.

With HELLA LED main headlamps you can expect:

  • Homogeneous light pattern for greater visibility
  • Reliability in any weather
  • Greater safety thanks to better illumination

Proven technology for professionals

HELLA stands for durable practical lighting solutions – and this shines through in every LED headlamp. The electronics are made to last and can withstand vibrations, temperature fluctuations and humidity. Thanks to modern LED modules, there is no need for regular bulb replacement – which saves maintenance costs and reduces downtime. In contrast with conventional halogen lamps – the brightness remains constant over the entire lifetime without diminishing. The light itself is also easier on the eye and ensures fatigue-free working, especially during long periods of use. Every HELLA combi headlamp is rigorously tested before it hits the road – for maximum reliability.

Advantages of HELLA lighting technology:

  • Maintenance-free LED technology
  • Long lifetime under tough conditions
  • Consistent light quality

Developed for high-performance vehicles

In construction and agricultural applications in particular, it’s hard to find space for additional components – this is where the combi headlamp comes into its own. This compact module incorporates several light functions and can be easily integrated into even the most confined installation spaces. The LED headlamp is light and rugged and therefore ideal for mobile machines, trailers or municipal technology. Despite its compact dimensions, it is still extremely powerful. Owing to the modular design, it can be easily retrofitted without major modifications.

HELLA thinks about the practical aspects – and you can see that in every detail:

  • Compact design with high performance
  • Space-saving integration in commercial vehicles
  • Ideal for retrofitting and refurbishment

LED headlamps for professionals: More visibility. More security. More power.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about HELLA LED headlamps

What is the difference between an LED headlamp and a conventional halogen headlamp?

LED headlamps offer a significantly higher luminous efficiency, longer lifetime and consume less energy than halogen headlamps. They also provide a more homogeneous light similar to daylight, which is gentle on the eyes during longer periods of use. LEDs are also extremely robust – they are less sensitive to impacts and more resistant to the effects of weather. This is particularly important for commercial vehicles, where work is often carried out under harsh conditions. The switch to LED therefore pays off in many respects.
In a nutshell: More light, less power, longer life.

Can I simply replace my existing main headlamp with an LED main headlamp?

In many cases, yes – HELLA offers numerous LED headlamps that have been specially developed for retrofitting. It is important that the new model is a good match for the vehicle both electrically and mechanically. Existing holders and cable connections can often be reused, which simplifies installation. If you are unsure, we recommend you briefly check against the technical data or consult HELLA Service. ECE-approved models also do not require individual approval.
Result: Easy to retrofit – without major conversion work.

Are HELLA LED main headlamps suitable for winter road maintenance?

Yes – HELLA LED main headlamps are designed for use all year round and are absolutely reliable even under extreme conditions. They are vibration-resistant, waterproof (e.g. IP6K9K) and can even withstand aggressive road salt. The robust housing and tested electronics ensure that the lighting works reliably even in sub-zero temperatures. This makes them ideal for vehicles carrying out winter road maintenance, gritting machines or municipal technology.
Summary: Winter-proof, salt-resistant, ready for use.

How long do HELLA LED headlamps last?

The lifetime of HELLA LED main headlamps is typically over 30,000 operating hours – depending on the model, application and ambient conditions. They therefore outperform conventional halogen lights many times over. In addition, brightness and light distribution remain constant for years – without diminishing. For fleet managers and operators, this means less downtime, less maintenance and lower operating costs.
More running time. Less effort. Maximum reliability.
