Software error in electronic brake control unit
In the above-mentioned vehicle type, it may be possible that the brake pressure is not correctly established when braking during cornering. As a result, the brake pedal may temporarily feel stiff, the braking force is reduced and the braking distance is noticeably longer. This is caused by a software error in the electronic brake control unit, which, under certain conditions, may to incorrect brake pressure control.
The problem has been identified by the vehicle manufacturer and will be rectified as part of a service campaign using a software update. This involves updating the control unit software to the latest version. For instance, use a Hella Gutmann macsRemote Services or a mega-macs series PassThru-capable diagnostic unit to update the software. Furthermore, registered access to the vehicle manufacturer's online portal is required. If the appropriate equipment is not available, please contact an authorised specialist workshop.
It may still be possible that not all vehicles affected worldwide have been dealt with. If you have vehicles with such problems at the workshop, please bear this information in mind and check whether the recall has been completed in your area. For more details on this issue, if applicable, contact the vehicle manufacturer or a workshop authorised by said manufacturer.
Once the cause of the fault has been eliminated, delete the fault memory and then go for a test drive.
