Recirculation air flap malfunction

In the above vehicles, a damaged drive (Figure 1) between the recirculation air flap shaft and the recirculation air flap itself can lead to a malfunction.

This can be remedied using a repair kit (93196653; Figure 2). This method involves installing a modified recirculation air flap housing and replacing the short shaft in the flap motor with a longer variant.

To replace the components, proceed as follows:

Unscrew the fan motor from the recirculation air flap housing (Figure 3)

Disconnect the recirculation air flap housing from inside the engine compartment
Remove the housing
Remove the recirculation air flap motor (Figure 4) from the old housing, together with the shaft
