ABS warning light illuminates sporadically

Error code P0504

On the above vehicle models, the warning light for the antiblock system may illuminate sporadically. At the same time, error code P0504 is issued in the error memory of the engine control unit.

In some cases, the fault light for the hill holder may also illuminate.

Cause

The fault may be caused by the pin contacts in the brake-pedal switch locking erroneously.

Remedy

In such cases, the plug connection and cable on the brake-pedal switch must be checked, and repaired if necessary.

Once this is complete, clear the error memory and perform a test run
