Problemet optræder dog kun, når klimaanlægget er slukket, og derfor er det kun sjældent, at klimaanlægget anses for at væreårsagen.Årsagen kan være en metaltlåsering, som sidder på forsiden af kompressorremskiven. I tomgang og når kompressoren er slået fra, kan skiven være årsag til vibrationer, som overføres via kompressoren til motorblokken, og som opfattes som en irriterende støj.For at afhjælpe problemet er kompressorkoblingens låsering blevet ændret. Ved udskiftninggår man frem på følgende måde:Afmontér højre forhjulFjern motorafdækningenFjern kompressorens drivremAfmontér kompressorkoblingens støvdækselFjern koblingens låsering, og erstat den med en ændret version med gummiindlæg (reservedelsnummer samt yderligere informationer kan oplyses af Fiats forhandlernet)

Compressor noise with air-conditioning system switched off

With the above vehicles noise may be heard from the engine compartment when idling. The problem however only occurs when the air-conditioning system is switched off and is thus seldom attributed to the air-conditioning system.

A possible cause is a metal circlip, which is fitted to the front of the compressor pulley. When the vehicle is idling with the compressor switched off, the circlip can cause vibrations, which are transmitted via the compressor to the engine block and are perceived as annoying noise.

To rectify the problem, the circlip of the compressor coupling has been modified. With replacement

proceed as follows:

Remove the right front wheel
Remove the engine cover
Remove the drive belt of the compressor
Remove the dust cover of the compressor coupling
Remove the circlip of the coupling and replace with a modified version featuring a rubber insert (spare part number and further information available from the Fiat dealer network)
