HELLA China establishes strategic partnership with USST

HELLA China forged a strategic partnership with USST on scholarship, campus recruitment, project development, HELLA's optional courses and other items

Shanghai, China--On November 27, 2015. Witnessed by the leaders and staff on both sides, as well as the student representatives, the kickoff ceremony of strategic cooperation between HELLA China and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) was wrapped up. Present were Frank Petznick, member of the Executive Board of HELLA Electronics and executive vice president of HELLA Electronics China; Peter Willemsen, vice president of HELLA China Electronics Technology Center; Barnabas Szabo, general manager of HELLA Shanghai Electronics Co., Ltd. as well as other leaders. Vice President of USST Sun Yuedong, nine other teachers and fifteen students of USST attended the ceremony.

 

Frank Petznick said, "Schools have provided very important resources for our talent cultivation and development, we really appreciate USST's hard work and support over the years." The strategic cooperation between USST and HELLA involves campus recruitment, scholarship, project development, HELLA's optional courses and other items.

 

Since HELLA Scholarship was set up in 2011, over 70 students in USST have won the scholarship. The scholarship winners' representatives were also present. Since 2014, HELLA Shanghai Electronics has run two terms and over 40 hours of optional courses at USST. The optional courses introduced the development of automotive electronics and HELLA's practices to students, to offer them deep knowledge of the automobile industry as well as the functions and applications of automotive parts. HELLA Electronics signed a three-year agreement on project cooperation with USST. Every year, some teachers and students were involved in the projects of HELLA Electronics. Of these projects, Research on a Body Control System based on Low-power-consumption Bluetooth Smartphone has applied for a patent. Also, HELLA Electronics signed practice based agreements with USST's schools and colleges to provide practice and learning opportunities to students. "The cooperation has created good platforms and opportunities for our students to integrate theories with practices, hopefully it will make our students more competitive," said Sun Yuedong.
