Lippstadt, June 1, 2017. Road sweepers, as well as airport and waste collection vehicles, are generally in constant use. This also places great demands on the quality and reliability of headlamps, work lights, etc. The lighting and electronics expert HELLA therefore offers a comprehensive portfolio for municipal vehicles containing robust work lights, optical warning systems and beacons, daytime running lamps, front and rear lamps, as well as interior lighting. The company has now expanded its portfolio to be able to respond to customer needs in an even more targeted way.

One highlight is the modular Shapeline lamp series, which HELLA presented at the end of 2016. It is now also available for municipal vehicles. Using the handy HELLA Shapeline configurator (www.hella.com/shapeline), vehicle manufacturers or fleet operators can configure their light signature quickly and easily by a click of the mouse, thereby giving their vehicle series an individual look. Shapeline is available in two design alternatives: the classically straight "Shapeline Tech" and the dynamically curved "Shapeline Style". One of the most practical features is that the online configurator automatically takes into account either current European ECE R48 regulations or American SAE regulations.

Alongside a distinctive vehicle design, for municipal vehicles low maintenance outlay and low operating costs are above all paramount. This is why HELLA is increasingly using LED technology for all products. The municipal brochure from HELLA demonstrates the savings potential offered by this, the noticeable differences in your daily work, and which products are particularly suited for which vehicle types. The new RokLUME 280 N work light is designed above all for applications with particularly high lighting requirements, such as when working at twilight or at night, and it contains the ZEROGLARE technology developed by HELLA. The lens optics specifically aims light from the LEDs towards the ground in front of the vehicle, creating a very clear cut-off line between light and dark. This means that drivers of oncoming vehicles are not dazzled, thus increasing safety enormously. In addition to the RokLUME 280 N, HELLA has two more new LED work lights in the range. The Q90 Compact ensures optimal visibility behind and next to the vehicle for refuse trucks, for example. Due to its compact design, the Module 70 Generation 3.2 is particularly suited to road sweepers or baggage tractors.

In addition to new work lights, HELLA also offers three more highlights in the field of beacons: the K-LED Blizzard, the K-LED 1.2, and the RotaLED Compact. For all variants, the company uses powerful and efficient LEDs. This also applies for reversing lights. Here, the lighting expert offers its most powerful product to date for commercial vehicles with 1100 lumens, in the form of the Repulse Ultra. In the field of headlamps and auxiliary headlamps, the products Light Bar 350 and the LED headlamp C 140 supplement the current portfolio. With the DuraLED, there is also a new front and marker light. Furthermore, HELLA has expanded the selection of 90-millimeter modules: the Bi-LED L 5570 now also provides low beam and high beam from a single headlamp module. This is particularly advantageous when only a small space is available, as is the case with road sweepers, for example.
