Sindelfingen, 28 February 2017. The lighting and electronics specialist HELLA officially opened its new development centre for automotive lighting technology in Sindelfingen during an inauguration event. "HELLA now also has a dedicated presence in one of Europe's strongest automotive regions," says Markus Bannert, member of the HELLA management board and responsible for the Business Division Lighting. "The new development centre in Sindelfingen shall respond to the growing demand for innovative lighting solutions, particularly as a complement to existing capabilities at our Lippstadt headquarters in Westphalia."
"We are delighted that an internationally leading automotive supplier like HELLA has chosen Sindelfingen as a business location," commented Dr Bernd Voehringer, mayor of the city of Sindelfingen, during the inauguration event. "This is further testament to the importance of this region and particularly of Sindelfingen as a business location for the German automotive industry."
About 20 employees currently work on the new HELLA premises. Perspectively, the number of development staff at the location is set to increase to over 100. The development centre is headed by 49 year old engineer Klaus Matauschek, who has many years of management expertise in the automotive industry.
