HELLA Mining Under New Management

Vienna/Großpetersdorf, February 13, 2017. On February 6, 2017, global management of HELLA Mining was entrusted to Steve Lomas. His new position now means that he is responsible for global business carried out by the HELLA Group in the area of mining. And this responsibility covers both the business of Original Equipment and also the Upgrade and Retrofit undertakings.

"With his years of experience and expert knowledge in this branch of industry, Steve Lomas will add strength to the HELLA Mining business," says Dr. Thomas Hiebaum, Vice President of the Off-Highway segment in the HELLA Group. "We are delighted at being able to continue ramping up, together with him, the central issues in this line of business, i.e. safety and the reduction of downtimes."

Steve Lomas can offer more than 40 years of experience gathered in the world of mining. Stations along his career path include six years at Longwall International and a further six years spent at Joy Mining Equipment. In 2007 he joined Sandvik where, in his role as Vice President, he succeeded in continuing to develop the mining business in Africa and in the Middle East. Most recently he held the position of Director of Global Strategy and Business Development at Howden Global Mining, where for four years he oversaw the international development of the Mining business division.
