Back to Cool: HELLA Aftermarket Returns to the Thermal Management Components Business

  • HELLA starts with an initial range of 1,200 spare parts; the expansion of the product range to 6,000 parts is planned by 2027
  • With innovative air conditioning and engine cooling components, HELLA is consolidating its role as a full-range supplier in IAM
  • Pioneering OE technologies from thermal management to be introduced in the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) in the medium term

Lippstadt, 6 May 2025. HELLA, a global leader in automotive technology, is returning to the Thermal Management product group in the Aftermarket segment. In doing so, the company is not only renewing its market presence, but also offering advanced technological solutions that efficiently move vehicles from superheated to optimally cooled states. "HELLA has been driving innovation in thermal management for over twenty years. Based on our expertise in engine cooling and air conditioning for cars and commercial vehicles, we want to further strengthen our leading position in the aftermarket," explains Dr. Marcel Wiedmann, Head of Independent Aftermarket at HELLA.

At the time of market entry, HELLA Aftermarket's extensive product range in the field of thermal management includes around 1,200 spare parts, including essential components for air conditioning such as compressors, condensers and interior blowers as well as for engine cooling such as radiator fans, radiators and intercoolers. HELLA plans to expand the number of components to 6,000 by 2027 to meet growing market needs. "Our goal is to significantly expand our product portfolio and achieve full integration of the products in the IAM," says Wiedmann and continues: "By creating synergies with our IAM range of electronic parts such as coolant thermostats, air quality sensors and temperature switches, we offer everything from a single source, and thus noticeably differentiate ourselves from the competition."

In the medium term, forward-looking technologies from the OEM sector for electric vehicles, including the Coolant Control Hub (CCH), the electronic valve actuator (eVA) and the medium pump (MPX), are also to be introduced to the aftermarket. "These components represent groundbreaking OE know-how, which will be successively integrated into our IAM range," emphasizes Wiedmann.

The HELLA thermal management product range is available worldwide and is continuously adapted to local requirements in order to offer tailor-made solutions for every fleet. New vehicle models are quickly integrated, which ensures a constant expansion of the range and rapid availability in the aftermarket. Wholesalers also benefit from an efficient delivery program, which is optimized by consolidating material numbers.

HELLA provides independent workshops with comprehensive support with its expertise in the field of thermal management. As an example, the online platform HELLA Tech World offers extensive knowledge about modern cooling systems. Hella Gutmann Solutions complements the range with diagnostic equipment, software solutions and technical data that efficiently enable repairs of over 48,000 model variants. Remote services and technical training for workshops are also offered, making Hella Gutmann an indispensable partner in 24 countries.
