METSTRADE: Hella marine presents lighting innovations for ships

HELLA, the automotive supplier operating under the FORVIA umbrella brand, will be presenting innovative lighting products at METSTRADE in Amsterdam, the world's largest trade fair for marine equipment, from 15 to 17 November 2023.

HELLA, the automotive supplier operating under the FORVIA umbrella brand, will be presenting innovative lighting products at METSTRADE in Amsterdam, the world's largest trade fair for marine equipment, from 15 to 17 November 2023 (HALL 1, STAND 367). This is the 35th time in a row that we have taken part - which makes the anniversary edition of the trade fair very special for us too," says Ansgar Hinrichs, Global Director of Sales at Hella marine. "The METS in Amsterdam is and remains an important part of Hella Marine's long-standing success story. The opportunity to show our latest products to a wide audience and to meet customers, partners, colleagues and not least friends from all over the world is unique and means a lot to us. We are therefore once again looking forward to three very exciting days in November and many more shows in the future.

Hella marine will be presenting the new „Sea Hawk 470 Edge Light Bar“ auxiliary searchlight at the trade fair. This is equipped with EdgeLight light guides. With the technology developed by HELLA, the light emerges from a narrow strip inside the light. The light is coupled in by one or more LEDs and radiates over the entire length. In this way, EdgeLight generates a far-reaching, sharply defined light signal and thus ensures greater safety. The EdgeLight is available in blue or white. This allows manufacturers to create a unique lighting design for their ship. The Grilamid® lens is also particularly impact-resistant, UV-stable and resistant to commonly used chemicals and detergents.

Another highlight: the „Apelo A3“ underwater lighting, which is ideal for larger boats. Not only does it offer an intensive light output of 6,000 lumens, but the RGBW version also features white light-emitting LEDs, which produce an even more intense white light. The "fish mode" of the Apelo A3 in the blue/white version offers a strobe function for both colours, which is activated by simply switching the lamp's power supply.

Hella marine is also upgrading its navigation lighting to C-5 certification, which has been granted by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). The certification sets a new benchmark for safety and reliability in marine navigation to ensure that the highest standards of durability, visibility and system performance are met.
Visitors to the HELLA stand will also have the opportunity to take part in a competition. An Apelo A1 set will be up for grabs on each of the three days of the fair.
