Johannes Müller in a new What the HELLA interview

What are the most important priorities again, and how is everything connected? That’s what we ask Johannes Müller in a new What the HELLA interview.

Over the past few weeks, we have reported extensively on the topic of strategy here: interviews on the strategic priorities of the Business Groups, a comprehensive presentation with the most important results from the strategic planning process, and a mid-term review of our Objectives and Key Results (OKR) provided detailed insights – with the aim of creating the greatest possible transparency. But what strategic priorities should everyone be aware of, and how are strategy, values, and OKRs actually connected? To conclude the series, we asked Johannes Müller, Head of Corporate Strategy, these questions in a new What the HELLA. You can watch the three-and-a-half-minute video here.

Strategy: The Top Three everyone should know
If you don't have time to watch the video, here are the top three cross-BG strategic priorities in black and white:

1. We want to further expand our market and customer orientation. This includes realigning the product portfolio and setting clearer priorities. It is crucial to bring the business even closer to customers – both in the premium and, increasingly, in the volume segment – and to offer solutions that truly meet their needs: sophisticated technological innovations at affordable prices.

2. We want to strengthen the resilience of our business model. This means further developing our regional structures in a targeted manner, empowering local teams and broadening our customer base. This is essential in order to reduce our dependence on individual major customers and to ensure stable growth in the long term.

3. We want to simplify structures and processes to remain competitive in the long term. With this goal in mind, we launched the SIMPLIFY FORVIA project in collaboration with FORVIA.

The strategic planning process is repeated annually in order to continually reassess the strategic orientation of the individual business units and adjust it if necessary. A number of different teams are involved in this process. We also asked Johannes Müller why this process actually takes so many months and whether we are making it too complicated:

How everything fits together: a coherent overall picture

The top three strategic levers are linked to other elements according to a clear logic, which Johannes Müller describes in What the HELLA using the image of a pyramid: At the top are FORVIA's vision, mission, and values. The strategy of FORVIA HELLA is in the center, the OKRs are at the lower end.
