FORVIA upgrades its Green IT Classroom in Zhangzhou, Fujian
- Faurecia and FORVIA HELLA jointly donate 35 refurbished computers to upgrade hardware, with over ten volunteers on-site
Shanghai, 28 May 2026. International automotive supplier FORVIA, combining the complementary technologies and industrial strengths of Faurecia and HELLA, has announced the upgrade of its Green IT Classroom at Punan Central Primary School in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province. Launched by FORVIA in 2023, the Green IT Classroom project includes an additional donation of 35 refurbished computers this year, demonstrating FORVIA’s ongoing commitment and care through sustained investment.
The FORVIA Green IT Classroom project takes educational digitalization as its core entry point while fully embracing circular economy principles. Through professional refurbishment processes, the company transforms idle corporate computers into efficient teaching equipment, creating high-quality digital learning spaces for students. In the Zhangzhou Green IT Classroom project, Faurecia and FORVIA HELLA once again donated 35 refurbished computers, effectively upgrading the school’s hardware while innovatively integrating art with the digital curriculum to spark students’ creativity and digital thinking. On the day of the event, more than 10 volunteers from Faurecia and FORVIA HELLA China were on-site, working with the school and social organizations to bring the project to life. The volunteers led students in hands-on experiences with intangible cultural heritage bamboo weaving and a “Sports”-themed wall painting, showcasing the fusion of traditional culture and digital art.
“The upgrade of this Green IT Classroom is another important practice of Faurecia and FORVIA HELLA jointly delivering the sustainability concept of ‘Blue Effect.’ Using the circular economy as our methodology, we transform idle corporate resources into tools that continuously empower education. While tangibly supporting educational digitalization, we also instill values of sustainable development in students”, says Sun Xiaojun, Director of HR China of Business Group Clarion Electronics and Director for Global HR Operations and Quality Functions at FORVIA. “Going forward, we will continue to leverage the ‘Blue Effect’ framework to gather more social forces, driving sustainable development from corporate action to social consensus.”
“This classroom means far more than a hardware upgrade; it carries our deep aspirations for educational equity and a sustainable future. From the initial donation to ongoing maintenance, and now to this upgrade, we have ensured that sustainable development is not just a one-time act of goodwill but a long-term commitment to rural education”, says Cola Wang, Director of Corporate HR China at FORVIA HELLA. “We hope the Green IT Classroom serves as a bridge, making sustainable development a tangible force for children’s growth.”
To date, through this project, FORVIA has donated a total of 465 refurbished computers, benefiting over 7.500 students. The project has engaged more than 300 company volunteers, who have environmentally dismantled and processed old computers, diverting 1,6 tons of e-waste and effectively reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 165 tons.
