The first demolition work is about to begin on the site of HELLA's headquarters in Lippstadt. After the company had already commissioned the architect responsible and presented an initial concept idea for the new headquarters at the end of July, the first structural changes in the realisation of the new location concept are thus also becoming visible.

"With the start of demolition, the further development of the headquarters in Lippstadt reaches an important milestone," says site manager Matthias Wiehen. The first buildings to be demolished are the so-called E-buildings at Rixbecker Straße, which are located on the approximately 6,000 square metre site between HELLA Globe and the railway tracks. This includes three old city buildings that have been already vacant for several years, as well as those buildings on the company grounds that used to house, for example, the plant fire departmant and corporate security. In total, these demolition works are expected to last until October.

When demolition begins, a few specific parking areas on the western premises will be closed. The P7 parking lot (in front of building D5) and the areas in front of the old goods receiving point will continue to be available. Outside the premises, the P21 car park on Steinstraße, which previously housed the modular-frame premises of L-LAB and E-LAB, can now be used again.

The much more extensive demolition works of the old production halls, on the site of which the new HELLA headquarters is to be mainly built, is set to start in autumn or winter of this year. The employees of the Lifecycle Solutions business group, who are currently still located on the west side together with colleagues from the IT area, will temporarily move to the east side of the plant.
