FORVIA HELLA wins “Automotive Components Going Global Operational Excellence Award” in China
- FORVIA HELLA is recognized for end-to-end operational excellence across research and development, production, supply, sales and service in China
Shanghai, 28 April 2026. International automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA has received the “Automotive Components Going Global Operational Excellence Award” at the 2026 Pioneer Industry Award ceremony, jointly presented by Vogel Communications Group and Beijing Jigong Vogel Media Advertising Co., Ltd. during Auto Beijing 2026. The jury recognized FORVIA HELLA for end‑to‑end operational excellence across research and development, production, supply, sales and service. It highlighted the company’s very high degree of localization across the value chain in China as well as its ability to translate global technology leadership into affordable innovations that deliver measurable value for Chinese OEMs.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Elin Ji, Head of Marketing and Communications in China at FORVIA HELLA. “By validating our ability to align innovation, industrialization and supply with China’s speed and scale, this award underscores FORVIA HELLA’s role as a partner of choice for Chinese OEMs seeking affordable innovation and competitive, global‑ready platforms. It also highlights how products engineered and industrialized in China are powering international programs, strengthening customer competitiveness as they expand from China to world markets”.
With 18 sites and around 5,500 employees in China, FORVIA HELLA has established a closed-loop “research–procurement–manufacturing” system in the region, shortens development cycles, reduces unit cost and enhances supply stability through deep collaboration with local suppliers. These capabilities are visible on market-leading, China-developed programs, such as the first localized SSL|HD application on the ZEEKR 8X headlamp, NIO ONVO L90 intelligent headlamp, Zeekr 9X Star-Diamond Rear Lamp, and LEEXED R7 highly integrated headlamp, precisely meeting the demands of the Chinese market and achieving qualitative leaps in performance, design aesthetics, and personalized functions. Solutions first launched in China, such as the 48V Flatpack energy management system, now improve energy efficiency and packaging for multiple European passenger car lines, while the company achieved the world’s first mass production of a 12V lithium battery management system in China. In addition, FORVIA HELLA recently introduced its first sodium-ion low-voltage battery management system, first cross-platform 48V universal battery management system, and first 72V battery management system in China, translating customer needs into scalable product concepts with short adaptation cycles and a high degree of application flexibility.
This operational and technological performance is reinforced by strong customer recognition and sustainability credentials. In lighting, FORVIA HELLA recently received a technological innovation award from Geely, and the Jiaxing lighting plant, its largest lighting facility in Asia, has earned General Motors’ North America Supplier Quality Award for six consecutive years while achieving national “Green Factory” certification. In electronics, the company has recently received customer awards from BorgWarner, EVE Energy, Nanjing Donghua Intelligent Steering and Henglong Group. FORVIA HELLA’s largest electronics plant worldwide, located in Shanghai, is certified as a Shanghai “Green Factory”. In addition, FORVIA HELLA has been recognized by the Huangpu District government in Shanghai for Sustainable Development for three consecutive years. Together, these recognitions underscore the company’s long-term commitment to quality, operational excellence and responsible growth in the region.
