With our sodium-ion LV BMS, cross-platform universal 48V BMS and 72V BMS, we are bringing ‘In China, For China, To the world’ strategy to practice. Through solutions developed in localized R&D, supported by localized supply chains and close local collaboration, and shaped by the rapid evolution of the Chinese low-voltage market – all on modular, scalable architectures with the potential to create more value globally.”
Sodium-ion low-voltage battery management system: customizable, wide coverage, rapid implementation
Sodium-ion battery technology is emerging as an important trend in China as the market seeks more diversified, resilient and application-oriented battery pathways alongside lithium-ion. Compared with lithium-based systems, sodium-ion benefits from more abundant and more widely available raw materials, can reduce exposure to lithium price volatility, and offers particular advantages in cold conditions. China is at the forefront of this trend because of its competitive battery market, fast commercialization cycles and openness to new battery chemistries. For FORVIA HELLA, this makes sodium-ion a highly relevant area of innovation: it aligns with growing demand in the low-voltage segment and allows the company to build on its proven lithium-ion BMS expertise.
FORVIA HELLA’s first sodium-ion LV BMS solution offers comprehensive differentiation in state-of-charge estimation accuracy, balancing efficiency, low-temperature management, and safety strategies, effectively improving cell consistency, reducing usage risks in winter and fast-charging scenarios. In addition, it extends battery life, makes state-of-charge display more accurate, and significantly enhances vehicle reliability and user experience.
Cross-platform universal 48V battery management system: reliable, intelligent, versatile scenarios
With innovative engineering design, this solution meets with stringent regulation requirements across various industries from mild hybrid vehicles to energy storage devices, mobile robots, and large-scale intelligent landscaping equipment, serving as the “intelligent hub” for 48V lithium batteries. It adopts automotive-grade chips, supports wide-temperature operation, and offers strong electromagnetic interference resistance. It utilizes a modular structural design and is equipped with intelligent algorithms for efficient management and system compatibility. In addition, it can provide comprehensive battery pack protection within milliseconds, meeting safety requirements across multiple scenarios.
72V battery management system: adaptable, safe and reliable, precise and efficient
Targeting the two-wheel and three-wheel electric mobility sector, this product integrates multiple protection mechanisms and adopts automotive-grade design standards, offering excellent vibration resistance and high-temperature durability to ensure stable and reliable operation. Even under complex road conditions and high-frequency usage, it maintains outstanding range and consistent performance, while supporting rapid integration into series production processes, precisely meeting the diverse needs of food delivery, daily commuting, and urban short-distance mobility.
