Making sure the (oil) level is always right: The latest generation of HELLA level sensors ensure that the liquid level is accurately recorded so that appropriate action can be taken if the level is too high or too low. For this reason, level sensors are particularly important for detecting oil level.
Oil level sensors continuously measure the oil level in the static and mechanical ranges and supply this data accordingly. In this way, expensive engine damage, for example due to a break in the oil film, can be effectively avoided. In addition to the oil level, the integrated temperature sensor can contribute an input variable for the engine’s thermal management.
Compared to sensors with many different electronic components, HELLA PULS (packed ultrasonic level sensor) oil level sensors are particularly resistant to shocks and vibrations. This is ensured by the individual multi-chip module, on which ultrasonic and temperature sensors as well as an ASIC (application integrated circuit) are integrated. HELLA oil level sensors are flush mounted vertically from below in the bottom of the oil pan.
