HELLA’s Universal Turbocharge Actuator actuates kinematics in harsh engine environments and adjusts the turbocharger's variable turbine geometry (VTG) for the purpose of determining reliable and precise positions. It acts as a pressure relief valve to control the boost output of the turbo in order to prevent the turbine from over-speeding and to protect the turbocharger from unnecessary wear and tear. Its main field of application is the variable nozzle turbine for diesel engines, carrying out reliable and precise positions. Especially the insensitivity to magnetic fields and the high level of temperature stability are the characteristic qualities of the CIPOS® technology employed in the UTA. The new generation is optimized regarding torque performance, lifetime and temperature range. It contributes to CO2 reduction and fuel efficiency.
