Loss of engine power, Report registered in combination instrument

With the above-mentioned vehicle, it is possible that a crack (see picture) in the charger intake hose brings about the posting of the error message, "Service Vehicle Soon." This error message is usually given in conjunction with a sudden loss of engine power. In some cases the engine warning light also comes on in the combination instrument.

When this is the case, Code P0299 (air intake pressure too low) and/or Code P2282 (incorrect air intake pressure) can be seen filed in the error memory .

The following steps should be taken to rectify the problem:

  • Read error memory
  • Carry out visual inspection of the air intake routing
  • Replace any defective component
  • Erase error / fault code memory
  • Test drive vehicle to check performance
