The low beam is not functioning

The low beam can fail on the vehicle named above.

Replacing the bulb and checking fuses F12 /F13 for the low beam did not solve the problem.

In this series, it can happen that the contacts in the fuse box overheat and burn if the low beam is switched on permanently.

To assess the contacts, pull out the lower grey plug in the fuse box (next to the OBD connector in the footwell on the driver's side). The relevant contacts are Pin 7 (grey / black cable) and pin 8 (grey cable).

The vehicle manufacturer has already recognized the problem. A more robustly configured connector kit for the low beam, article number 71745167, is available from the vehicle manufacturer.
