Artificial intelligence and autonomous driving

01-03-2021

Hardly any other traffic topic polarises opinions as much as this one does – and so the current discussion on this in Europe is and remains highly exciting!

Emergency braking function, collision warning and blind spot monitoring, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as Autopilot, automatic lane change and automatic parking: it often seems as if we are on the verge of fully autonomous vehicles.

And it’s true: today, technically speaking, a lot is already possible and quite significantly it is companies like HELLA that are developing these new technologies. But it is not only science that is focusing on this issue: before we are allowed to get into the fully automated car in the morning and relax until we reach our destination, there are still many questions to be answered.

More information and an introduction to this exciting discussion can be found in the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology
