Sound for greater safety: Signal horns are required by law in vehicles, so that other road users can be made acoustically aware of dangerous situations. With its strong signal, the 12 V HELLA TE16 two-tone trumpet horn is ideally suited for passenger cars of various sizes, as well as off-road vehicles and motorcycles. Flush mounting can be both vertical and horizontal.
The fanfare is operated by the battery current or a control current coming from the steering wheel. Voltage dips are avoided using a relay. The control current activates an electromagnet. This in turn attracts a metal core or armature, and above it, the steel diaphragm of the horn. The sound is produced by interrupting the power supply when the diaphragm is tightened and the armature and diaphragm return to the original position, and the process starts again. This creates a vibration, which becomes audible as a signal.
The corrosion-free HELLA TE16 two-tone trumpet horn is available with a low (400 Hz) or high tone (500 Hz) and produces a sound pressure level of approx. 110 dB(A) at 2 m distance. Flush mounting a set of high and low tones produces the optimal two-tone color.
