iVT 2022 in Cologne: HELLA presents lighting solutions for the agricultural and construction machinery sector

21-06-2022

Unique and distinctive design is also playing an increasingly important role in agricultural and construction machinery and other industrial vehicles. Customized LED lighting solutions are an optimal way of achieving this. HELLA has more than 100 years of experience of original automotive equipment and continues to advance lighting technology from the idea to the finished product. This makes it possible to optimally implement manufacturers’ and designers’ requirements.

HELLA presents numerous product highlights from the areas of front lighting, rear lighting, warning lights, work lights and electrics/electronics at the iVT Expo in Cologne, a leading trade fair and networking event for customers from the agricultural machinery, construction machinery and mining sectors, on June 29 and 30, 2022.

The keypoints in short

  • Universal S-Series work lights allow easy conversion of halogen headlamps to LED technology

  • K-LED Nano warning light offers LED technology in the smallest of spaces

S-Series work lights

"Simple, steady and streamlined" - this is the motto of HELLA's S-Series work lights on display at iVT Expo. The work light series was launched in 2021 and is suitable for agricultural machinery, construction machinery, forklifts, trucks and trailers, and municipal vehicles. The S-series is available in both round and square, as well as surface-mounted and built-in versions. Thanks to the universal and slim design, vehicle manufacturers can easily and quickly convert existing halogen work lights to LED technology.

The work lights of the S-series provide homogeneous illumination with a light color similar to daylight. The color temperature is around 6,500 Kelvin. Compared to halogen units, the S-Series scores with high efficiency due to its excellent lumen-watt performance. The highest EMC requirements are met throughout. Another plus: Vehicle manufacturers have the option of using the product to give their vehicles an individual appearance. For example, the respective company logo can be integrated into the reflector if desired.

K-LED Nano warning light

Another trade fair highlight from HELLA is the smallest homologated beacon to date: with a height of just 68 millimeters, the K-LED Nano offers LED technology in the smallest of spaces. This makes it particularly suitable for municipal vehicles, tractors and large vehicles that have to comply with a height restriction or have little mounting space available. The K-LED Nano uses flashing light to generate a long-range, amber warning signal to alert other road users and secure operational sites.

In return, it has a particularly high light intensity, for which it is approved according to the European ECE standard R65 Class 1 and the American SAE standard J845 Class 1. HELLA offers the beacon in three different mounting variants. With a bolt circle diameter of 130 millimeters, the standard version covers the usual HELLA mounting points and thus enables one-to-one replacement, e.g. if an upgrade to LED technology is desired. A slim variant with a diameter of 109 millimeters is also available for vehicle manufacturers on request. In addition, customers can also get a variant with flexible pipe socket attachment. Here, the shock-absorbing and vibration-damping base briefly tilts by up to 45 degrees and cushions even strong impacts.
