New modular light system LEDayFlex III

It is not only in the automotive sector that headlamps make a significant contribution to the design of a vehicle and shape the individual brand face on the road. In addition, the latest LED technologies and a striking appearance can also increase safety in road traffic. For this reason, the internationally positioned automotive supplier HELLA has developed the new LEDayFlex III combination lamp especially for motorhomes, buses, e-cars and sprinters.

Light modules with high modularity and flexibility

Per vehicle side, the lamp consists of three to five modules that can be flexibly arranged either horizontally, vertically or diagonally within the framework of legal requirements and guidelines. "The LEDayFlex III is a revolution in the field of combination lamps," says Johann Rudi, the responsible product manager at HELLA. "The state-of-the-art design is eye-catching in itself. Furthermore, vehicle manufacturers benefit from the possibility of being able to position the individual modules individually. This makes each individual headlamp unmistakable on the road." And yet another plus point: in road traffic during the day the special signal pattern is easier to recognise than the normal low beam, helping to reduce the risk of accidents.

Thanks to their clear shape, the modules can be harmoniously integrated into any headlamp. This allows infinite scope for individuality and creativity.

Homogeneous appearance because of EdgeLight technology

The LEDayFlex III has the LED light functions of a daytime running light, position light and direction indicator light all in one module. The latter is also available with a wiper function on request. All three functions are implemented for the first time with innovative EdgeLight technology. This means that the light from the LEDs runs through a light guide to a narrow edge, where the light is then bundled and emitted. The result is the creation of the lamp’s special depth effect, making the light modules appear to float at the front of the vehicle. Such technology also brings about a particularly homogeneous appearance. Individual LED spots are thus no longer recognisable.
