Kolkata / India, November 9, 2016. From November 16 - 19, the lighting and electronics expert HELLA will present at the international Mining & Machinery Fair IMME its current portfolio of innovative lighting solutions (Hanger A, Stall no 4 & 5). IMME 2016 is hosted in association with Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Mines & Ministry of Steel and the event is supported by Coal India Limited the largest coal producing company in the world. The Highlight at the HELLA booth will be the new innovative ZEROGLARE Technology. In addition, HELLA will present its comprehensive product range which ranges from worklights and beacons via front, tail and side lights as well as interior lighting to electrics and electrical solutions.

With the ZEROGLARE System HELLA has developed a new optical system to bring the safety and comfort of highway driving to mining operations. The ZEROGLARE optical system ensures that light from oncoming traffic does not blind oncoming drivers, thus eliminating discomfort and preventing disability glare. The ZEROGLARE system has a sharp horizontal cut-off that directs the light onto the ground in front of the vehicle instead of into the field of vision of oncoming vehicle operators. Based on HELLA Automotive LED optical developments in high-end LED headlights for luxury cars, HELLA has developed an extremely robust worklight that offers all the benefits of highway driving. Most optical systems utilized in the mining industry are ‘off the shelf’ components from household downlights or outdoor floodlights. The danger of glare increases with the output of light, with light hitting the eyes of oncoming vehicle operators. This has proven to be such an issue that numerous mine sites that had tested LED worklights reverted back to their original lighting systems, despite the many benefits of LED technology. At HELLA, we consulted with the mining industry and invested into the research and development of an optical system that would emit light only to where it was needed. The result is ZEROGLARE providing increased visibility and improved safety for operators in both surface and underground mining operations. HELLA is proud to show the RokLUME 380 N and RokLUME 280 N worklights as Highlight at the IMME. Among the world’s most advanced heavy-duty worklights for the mining industry, RokLUME 380 N and RokLUME 280 N incorporate more than 100 years of expertise in automotive optical design. The RokLUME 380 N and RokLUME 280 N feature powerful light engines of 7,800 and 4,400 measured lumens respectively, with a choice of 5 different light distributions including our industry’s first ZEROGLARE optic. With these innovative products HELLA has created a new lighting standard for the mining sector.
