In Pune, India, the FORVIA Business Group Electronics has around 1,200 employees at two different locations. Now they will be brought together at a new location in the IT Hub of Pune city. It is the second joint FORVIA location worldwide.

The distance between the two FORVIA locations in Pune, India, was a good 16 kilometres and can be covered by car in about 45 minutes. In the north is Bhosari, where Faurecia Clarion Electronics has had a technical centre since 2013, and a little further west is FORVIA HELLA with a development site in Baner. Around 3,000 employees work at the two sites in total, of which a good 1,200 work in the FORVIA Business Group Electronics alone.

The two electronics units with which FORVIA is represented in Pune will now be brought together at a new, joint location in the city; it is therefore the second joint FORVIA location worldwide after Northville (USA).

"We quickly realised that our current set-up in Pune was no longer sufficient for the future. After all, together as FORVIA we have ambitious growth plans on the ground. Within the next ten years, the number of staff on site could potentially double. We need more space for this, which the two existing locations do not have," says Dr. Naveen Gautam, member of the Electronics Executive Board and responsible for FORVIA HELLA's electronics business in India. He coordinated the project on behalf of FORVIA HELLA in close co-operation with both the corporate real estate management, especially with Sebastian-Otto Domnariu and Adriana Iulia Hantiu, as well as with the local FORVIA counterparts.

The new harbor is therefore: Hinjewadi, located in the north-west of Pune. A new IT cluster is currently being built there, and many other automotive companies, including Volkswagen and Daimler, are also based in the region. "We essentially asked ourselves two questions: Where can we best attract new talent to FORVIA, especially IT experts and software developers? And how can we avoid losing our existing colleagues at the same time? That's why we have also made sure that the journey to work is not significantly longer for them," says Gautam.

In Hinjewadi, FORVIA HELLA and Faurecia are now renting around 18,000 square metres of space on almost two entire floors in a completely new office building within a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The fact that this also creates a joint FORVIA location is more than just a positive side effect. "On the one hand, the teams will work together directly in terms of space. This makes them feel even more like a FORVIA team on the ground," says Olivier Chastang, General Manager India at FORVIA. “On the other hand, we also have economic advantages: This is because we are implementing a standardised office concept and could also combine other specific areas to create a joint FORVIA Marketplace, for example - which in turn strengthens the team spirit.” The relocations took place by the end of June.

The new location was formally inaugurated by FORVIA HELLA Management Board and top leadership Team from customer Tata Motors on 19th June 2024.
