It's the first week in September, and the global automotive industry is meeting in the best weather at the Munich Exhibition Centre, but also in the city center. European and international carmakers are present at the IAA Mobility 2023 next to suppliers, software and technology players, but also start-ups or manufacturers of e-bikes, for example. The concept of the IAA was fundamentally realigned two years ago and was in the process now opened up to a larger audience. The organizers count over half a million visitors in total this time, around 100,000 more than in 2021, which, however, was heavily affected by the Corona pandemic.

FORVIA is right in the middle of it all, with a 405 square meter booth in the immediate vicinity of other industry giants, such as BMW, Tesla and Renault, ZF and Amazon Web Services (AWS). For FORVIA, it was the third stop of a world tour this year after the well-recognized appearances at CES in Las Vegas and Auto Shanghai in January and April this year.

And FORVIA's presence in Munich fits seamlessly into this line-up. Above all, the clear booth concept was convincing. FORVIA is aligning itself with three key strategic growth areas – and showcased an both impressive as well as interactive masterpiece for each of these areas. And: They particularly underlined how much the technological and industrial strengths of Faurecia and HELLA complement each other under the FORVIA umbrella.

The demonstrator "Zero Emissions Drive Train", for example, illustrated FORVIA's complementary portfolio for both battery and hydrogen-powered electric mobility. The masterpiece "Safe and Automated Driving" shows essential key technologies for automated driving, for example radar, sensor and camera expertise as well as fail-safe by-wire technology – and how these create confidence in automated driving functions.

And then there was "Lumières", a visionary cockpit study and perhaps the biggest highlight of the booth. It shows what interior concepts of the future could look like: as an adaptable interior with flexible seat configurations, multifunctional consoles, personalized sound settings and dynamic ambient lighting. At the front, side and rear, "Lumières" also has lighting technology with which the car can communicate with other road users, display warnings or provide information about the charging status of the vehicle battery, for example.

The response from trade fair visitors didn’t take long: More than a thousand guests visited the FORVIA booth, including high-ranking delegations from various customers up to the top management level. After CES and Auto Shanghai, the European stop was therefore again a success for FORVIA.
