Application The 360° camera system is suitable for a variety of transport vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses and motor homes. This system ensures a view around the whole vehicle. Due to the bird's eye view of the vehicle, manoeuvring in areas that are difficult to access is no great challenge. Collisions with people and objects are also avoided.
Essentially, the 360° camera system consists of a control unit, four cameras and a screen, linked by a cable harness. The cameras’ ultra wide angle lens (H = 185° x V = 142°) visualises the vehicle's surroundings and displays them on the screen in real time. This makes it possible for drivers to react in time before an impending collision with persons or objects. When the corresponding input signals are actuated, such as turn indicators or reverse gear, the control unit shows the relevant camera views on the screen. Views can also be individually controlled by the driver using the corresponding selection button. The system must be calibrated* to ensure correct camera alignment. Other settings such as marker lines on the display – for parking or manoeuvring – can also be set up using the calibration tool. * The calibration tool can be ordered under number 8PD 358 142-021.
