The complexity of the current vehicle architecture, higher industry requirements for Over-The-Air upgradeability, autonomous driving and individualization are driving a new vehicle E/E architecture with a centralized logic and supporting “zonal” periphery management.
An inseparable part of the new zonal E/E architecture are the Zonal Modules. These embedded real-time electronic control units support and relieve centralized HPC nodes. They provide integration capabilities to reduce the number of discrete components and wiring in a vehicle, thus reducing the weight and complexity.
